I'm Jack Light. I started spinning records in 1979. Back then, nobody was talking about wireless microphones or LED uplighting. We showed up with our gear, read the crowd, and made people dance. Some things haven't changed.
Over the past four-plus decades, I've had the privilege of being part of thousands of weddings across the Texas Panhandle and beyond. I've set up at intimate ranches in the middle of nowhere and grand ballrooms in downtown Amarillo. I've played Frank Sinatra for grandmothers and Post Malone for the groomsmen.
I've kept ceremonies moving on 50 mph wind days and kept dance floors packed until the venue turned the lights on.
I also have three daughters of my own. So when I sit down with a couple, whether it's in person, on a call, or over Zoom, I'm not just a vendor taking notes. I'm someone who genuinely cares about getting it right. I tend to offer a little fatherly advice along the way. Couples tell me later that's exactly what they needed.
