Combate Academy

Combate Academy was founded by Matthew “Falavinha” Falavinha and Daniel “Danny” Motta with a shared vision of creating more than just a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym. Their goal was to build a place where high-level training, family, and community come together.

Matt, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with over 13 years of experience, and Danny have built Combate around a culture that welcomes everyone—from first-time students to serious competitors. With programs for kids, teens, adults, and families, Combate Academy focuses on building confidence, discipline, and lasting relationships both on and off the mats.

Proud to call Denton County home, Matt and Danny are committed to growing Jiu-Jitsu and making a positive impact in the community they serve.
