Taquito ’Bout Bold!
Frisco’s frozen-food game just got a little louder! Ruiz Foods has rolled out Más Bold, a new El Monterey taquito line built around bigger seasonings, familiar flavors, and a shell that gets in on the action, too.
The new Más Bold lineup, announced September 24, includes four varieties inspired by flavors that usually live elsewhere on the menu. Each comes wrapped in an infused, seasoned shell rather than leaving all the flavor work to the filling. The company says the line reflects growing demand for more variety in everyday snacks and meals, and the four options cover quite a bit of ground.
Four Ways to Roll
The lineup starts with Chicken Bacon Ranch, pairing seasoned chicken, bacon, cheese, and ranch flavoring. Spicy Chipotle Beef brings beef and chipotle flavor into the mix, while Buffalo-style Chicken takes its cue from the familiar hot-sauce-and-chicken combination. Philly-style Cheesesteak rounds things out with a cheesesteak-inspired filling.
All four sit within El Monterey’s broader “Choose Your Flavor Lane” lineup, where Más Bold occupies the more heavily seasoned end of the freezer case. The taquitos can be prepared in the microwave, oven, or air fryer, depending on how much time, and patience, stands between the freezer and the plate.
There’s also a Texas business story tucked inside the box. Ruiz Foods is headquartered in Frisco and employs approximately 3,800 people across four manufacturing facilities in Texas, California, and South Carolina. The privately owned company was founded in 1964 by Fred Ruiz and his father, Louis, and today produces frozen foods for retail, convenience stores, food service, and other channels.
For a company with its headquarters firmly planted in North Texas, Más Bold is another reminder that some of the state’s food industry muscle can be found well beyond restaurant kitchens. Sometimes, it’s waiting behind the freezer door.
