Windows Dressed for Texas Sun
There’s something about a room filled with natural light that makes a house feel more like home. The right window treatments can make that sunlight even better, adding a little personality, keeping rooms comfortable, and bringing the whole space together. Austin Window Fashions has been helping homeowners strike that balance since 1981. The family-owned company has outfitted thousands of homes across Central Texas with window treatments that combine practical comfort with beautiful design.
What sets the team apart is how much of the work stays in-house. Shopping starts at showrooms in Austin and Georgetown, where visitors can test fabrics and full-size displays before committing to anything. A design consultant then visits the home with samples, talks through how each room gets used, and takes precise measurements. Options range from Texas-made hardwood plantation shutters in custom paint or stain to the full Hunter Douglas lineup of shades, blinds, vertical treatments, and drapery, with motorized controls for anyone who'd rather adjust the light by voice. Installation goes to full-time crews rather than subcontractors. It's all part of the company's promise of "Professional Service, Superb Products & Expert Installation," and it shows in the details.
That consistency is a big reason Austin Window Fashions earned their 2026 Best of Texas Award. Much of the company's growth comes from referrals and repeat clients, including homeowners who've called them back for a second and third house. In a city that keeps reinventing itself, there's something reassuring about a business that's been getting the details right since the early '80s. The real proof shows up around 4 p.m., when the sun hits the glass and the living room stays cool enough for the dog to reclaim the couch.
